Please welcome to the world the Professionals’ Collective.
This project was born from the notion that the best way to understand and learn from your colleagues is by speaking with them. Additionally, I want to share more stories about my experiences among different populations as a way of informal continued education for myself and health enthusiasts at large. Both colleagues and idols have narratives I want to learn more about and share. So this led me to create the Professionals’ Collective.
All content from the project will be available at WesleyTillmanBrown.com in my blog section.
Participants chosen for this project are those I hold in high esteem for how they approach human performance and wellbeing. Their presences inspire me and offer perspectives that uplift and constructively challenge common narratives in the fitness world and adjacent wellness spaces. This collective includes physical therapists, business owners, coaches, yogis, Pilates instructors, public health professionals, nutritionists, and, of course, personal trainers.
The project will host conversations with fellow professionals about their experiences over the past few years and how they have developed skills and unique craft as leaders in their fields. We also discuss the state of their respective industries and what they think the future landscape will look like.
Establishing an aggregate of professionals and consumers among dissimilar and adjacent disciplines will allow us all to see where gaps in our understanding and exploration of human activity exist. I really want to unify and close those gaps in the fitness industry, specifically.
Some posts will have sound bites I’d like you to ruminate on. Others interviews in their entirety will be presented when I believe the participants have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. A few guest blog posts will also appear. No matter what, let this be a spark in the continuing process of learning to improve—not only for yourself, but also for the populations we serve.
To everyone who has been or will be a part, thank you for participating and sharing!
With gratitude,
Wes
