weight loss master post.

master post for birthday/new year/wedding/beach vacation weight loss goals:

good news. you don't need a grand overhaul of anything. sleep an extra hour a night. take stairs more than the elevator. cook more than you eat out, even if it's not pretty or seems ‘#healthy.’ if you don't have a personal assistant or full-time nanny, you're not as busy as you claim—you have different priorities. but it's easy to find an extra 2-3 hrs in your week when you have a perspective shift. drinking water is not a chore.

before you make a grand overhaul of your life and throw out all the food in your fridge and cut out foods a thin person on the internet told you to, remember it will take you about 5-8 months of consistency. hard. repetitive. boring. consistency to see and sustain the changes you want (conservative estimate). before you waste money on supplements to detox and alkalize the body, remember you’d be in an ICU if your body could not perform waste removal and balance pH levels on its own. disavow any detoxes and legitimacy that people with no formal scientific education will try to give detoxes. this includes juicing of all kind. detoxes are 100% bullshit. no detoxes. have a cup of coffee or go see a specialist if you have trouble pooping. read this paragraph again.

before you drop cash on a trainer who leaves you with more questions than answers, ask what their educational and experiential background is. if they struggle to answer this, find one who can. you're better off training with someone because they're patient, educated, and consistent than picking the person whose physique you admire.

stop gluing your eyes to skinny people. this is just a century that celebrates them. that privilege is fading fast. you can still have amazing sex, eat satisfying foods, and live. the most interesting thing about some of the bodies you admire are...their bodies. life happens whether or not you look a certain way.

a good trainer might help you transform your look. a great one will give you the tools to transform how you feel. work with the tools you have instead of chasing ones you don't need.

just because the calendar is changing doesn't mean you are obligated to, too.
