If you have watched TV or had a drink in the past week, then you have time to work out.
I’ve told clients this and had to remind myself, too—your best self comes out amidst chaos.
Your best routine now will be your best routine once it starts snowing and when holidays and new work demands and travel and kids and pets and civil unrest and pandemics interrupt your routine.
Lock it in NOW! Use your calendar. Write down your goals. Take this all seriously and take it all slowly.
Your fall hike, your day of apple picking, your turkey day football toss, your hungover ski days, your all day shopping sprees...absolutely do not count as training. And that’s ok! Some movement is better than nothing, i guess.
But get real and get serious about promoting longevity for yourself instead of going in bursts every few weeks or months. None of those activities should wear you out if you have time to move.
Trainers like myself and all of the gyms and friends I’m connected to have put out so much free or easily accessible opportunities and information to hold you accountable.
Who is stopping you from using these resources?
Move your body. Everyday.
(ps, not many trainers accept new clients in January and gyms are very likely to follow that trend with capacity restrictions now; you have been warned!)
Don’t let the calendar tell you when to start using your body.
